GOOD FRIDAY FIRE FIR Fire fighters had to force their way into a house during a fire yesterday afternoon.

Neighbours saw smoke pouring out of the property on Mount Hill, Pembroke, and alerted the fire service.

Once inside, firefighters found a pan had caught fire after being left unattended on a stove.

No-one was inside the house and there was little damage apart from that caused by smoke.

BURGLARS CRM Cruel burglars stole a piggy bank and escaped with $500 in coins during a raid on a house in Coral Hill Lane, Warwick. The thieves also grabbed a quantity of rings and chains and a watch.

In another raid, burglars stole two rings from a house in Rosemont Avenue, Pembroke. One was a sapphire ring and the other a diamond eternity ring.
