Bermuda has earned the right to compete in the Latin America Regionals for the 2014 CrossFit Games.

Marc Tucker, David Middleton, Mathew Macdonald, Jenny Malcolm, Sally Wombwell and Tiffany Dawson will represent the Island on behalf of CrossFit BDA after qualifying for the regional event, which will be held in Santiago, Chile, from May 9 to 11.

There are 17 regional divisions, including 12 in North America, with male and female divisions, Masters age groups and co-ed teams.

The top athletes and teams from each region are eligible to compete in the CrossFit Games, which will be held in Carson, California, in July.

“The chance to compete against the best in the region is something all of us are really looking forward to,” Mathew Macdonald, the co-owner of CrossFit BDA, said.

“We are going down there ready to work hard to surprise our friends in the region,“
