received planning approval for a six-storey office building on Par-la-Ville Road with retail stores on the ground level.

Martin Smith, Bermuda Press (Holdings) deputy chairman, said the office complex will not affect the day to day operation of The Royal Gazette although the current parking lot would be moved to another site.

The Development Applications Board said the approval was for planning permission only. A separate building permit would be needed before construction.

In other DAB news, Windreach Bermuda Trust received planning permission to increase its stables from six to seven and to add a feed storage room to the Warwick property.

The DAB approved the application but said that before any building can take place a separate building permit must be sought and approved.

The DAB has ordered Windreach to provide for storm water disposal to prevent run off onto a public road.

Meanwhile the DAB rejected Riddell's Bay Golf and Country Club's application for in principle amendments to the existing golf course.

The board ruled that there was insufficient information in their original proposal to conform with the provisions of the Development and Planning Regulations.

Bermuda Cablevision was granted planning permission to erect one 12 foot satellite dish and one 16.5 by 28 foot rectangular dish at their Laffan Street offices.

The board ruled that the approved satellite dishes shall not be larger than 16.5 feet by 28 feet and 12 feet in diameter and a maximum height of 18.5 feet and 14 feet respectively above the roof level of the existing single storey building.

Bermuda Properties Ltd. received permission for renovations and additions, including a pool, to the chef's cottage on White Crest Hill, Hamilton Parish.

Before any building can begin the DAB ruled that a three foot high green PVC chain link fence must constructed along the edge of the Woodland Reserve to the southeast of the proposed pool.
