ZBM offered a slot on Thursday, but it has been rejected because debate organiser Cris Valdes-Dapena will be out of the country.

Ms Valdes-Dapena, the President of the Chamber of Commerce, said last week that the round table discussion, which is expected to last between an hour and 90 minutes, would take place before 15 December.

She decided to organise the debate after witnessing the bitter rancour which poured out at the public meetings on long-term residents.

She said she hoped the frank discussion would help heal the racial wounds which continue to fester on the Island.

Ms Dapena intends to keep the identity of the participants secret until the night of the debate.

Progressive Labour Party activist Rolfe Commissiong is helping Ms Dapena organise the event.
