CADA, Bacardi lay on free transport

An organisation committed to reducing the number of alcohol related deaths will be providing extra free late-night taxis and minibuses on three nights over Christmas and New Year's Eve.

The Centre for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention (CADA) has a don't drink and drive initiative called 'Let Us Drive' taking place every Friday night. Bacardi Ltd. sponsors the programme.

The service runs from 3.15 to 3.45 a.m. with 24 free taxis available at the taxi stand outside of Butterfield Bank on Front Street. To get in a taxi, one must approach the CADA representative for the service to be arranged.

CADA chariman, Anthony Santucci said: "CADA remains committed to reducing the number of alcohol related deaths and accidents on Bermuda's roads and we are therefore delighted to once again partner with our sponsor, Bacardi Ltd. to provide three extra nights of this potentially life-saving service."

In addition to the taxis, two free minibuses with be available outside of Cafe Cairo on Front Street taking partygoers to their home or as close as possible with one travelling west and the other east. The minibuses will leave Front Street at 3.45 a.m.

The extra nights will be Thursday, December 20, Saturday, December 22 and New Years Eve.
