was this week fined $150 for using offensive words in a public place.

George H. Mouchette, of Rushy Lane, pleaded guilty to the charge in Magistrates' Court.

He denied a separate charge of possessing cannabis on June 9.

Prosecuting, Sgt. Earl Kirby told the court that as Mouchette left another court room on September 8 for a traffic offence he turned to an officer who had earlier testified and called him an "a**hole''.

Mouchette was stopped by the officer and arrested.

Sgt. Kirby said Mouchette had "quite a number of similar offences''. He noted that he was fined a total of $500 on January 22, 1990 for offensive behaviour and obstructing Police.

But Mouchette told Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis that he was being harassed by the officer.

"I had just left the court and this Police officer was licking out his tongue,'' he said, adding that he mumbled the words under his breath.

"This officer is just harassing me,'' Mouchette said. "The other night he almost ran me down with his car. He said he will not rest until he sees me in Casemates.''
