Ramu Potarazu, president & chief operating officer (COO) of Intelsat Global Service Corporation, will be promoted to president & COO, Intelsat (Bermuda), Ltd. next month.

In addition, he will head Intelsat's global sales and marketing efforts. In his position with Intelsat Global Sales & Marketing, Ltd., Mr. Potarazu will assume expanded responsibilities for the direction of business development, marketing, broadband programs and establishing new strategic business units for voice and data, video, and government services. As president & COO of Intelsat (Bermuda), Ltd., he will also be responsible for directing Intelsat's corporate strategy.

Bermuda-registered FLAG Telecom Group Ltd. has named Patrick Gallagher, as its new chief executive officer. He will also serve as a member of the board of directors of the company.

Mr. Gallagher comes from British Telecom where he was chief executive of BT Europe for five years and, most recently, group director for strategy and development with responsibility for Japan, China, and investments in France, Italy, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Korea.
