Protect the pedestrians

Dear Sir,Please allow me to request to your editorial any assistance The Royal Gazette can get in my area of Prospect Primary School and Prospect Pre School, Cedar Park, etc for the past six years as a community activist I have been lobbying government and Works & Engineering to install speed bumps like they have in Flatts and Mangrove Bay, outside Prospect Primary School on Military Road. The area representatives, Michael Dunkley and John Barritt supported the matter and Glen Blakney the new MP also supported this serious matter. In the past year the area has had over eight collisions some involving injuries with students. I personally have negotiated with the road superintendent and a Mr Eve and the many engineers only to get a reply of ‘we'll get to it'. Are we going to wait — and I hope not, have another Purvis School death before something is done to our children? Schools opening and no sign of speed bumps.Mr. Editor I'm also requesting to Belco to repair the street lights outside the schools (Prospect Primary, Cedar Park school's drive and Prospect Preschool entrance). I've been calling Belco and I've spoken to supervisors and the general manager for the past eight months. the area has had a few shootings and robberies in the area and yet I'm still waiting on Belco. Mr Editor thank you for receiving my serious concerns of these matters.TERRENCE FLOODCommunity Activist andProspect Primary School'sPublic Relationss Officer
