The Bermuda Brazilian Football School have added a seventh school to their annual Football and Life Skills Programme, which runs until December 12.

BBFS and HSBC will partner with Whitney Institute, Dellwood Middle School, Clearwater and Bermuda High School and Northlands Primary to provide the programme, now in its fifth year, for 16 players from each school.

“BBFS recognises that primary school and middle school students are at a key stage in their lives and it’s important that we reinforce positive lifestyles and healthy decisions in a safe but fun environment,” Cal Blankendal, of the BBFS, said. “Each week, the students will receive 45 to 50 minutes of training, followed by 10 to 15 minutes of life skills. The programme is open to both male and female students and will conclude with the five schools participating in a mini football festival/tournament.”

The life-skills subjects to be provided will focus on anti-gang/drugs messages, money management, SAT awareness, safe usage of social networking, future career and further education interest.
