Police said a 31-year-old Sandys man was arrested on Saturday night near the Royal Naval Field in Somerset on suspicion of having crack cocaine.

And a 23-year-old Pembroke man was arrested on Court Street, Hamilton, on suspicion of having cannabis. He was stopped and searched around 1 a.m. on Saturday morning.

HERON ESCAPED ALS Heron escapes A heron had a lucky escape after becoming entangled in the mooring line of a buoy at Salt Kettle Bay, Paget on Sunday morning.

A Police officer accompanied by a reserve constable were able to untangle the bird which then flew off none the worse for its ordeal.

GALLERY HOSTS LECTURE ART Gallery hosts lecture The Bermuda National Gallery is inviting the public to two lectures by visiting Canadian Rosemarie Tovell.

Ms Tovell, the curator of Prints and Drawings from the National Gallery of Canada, will help the gallery welcome the upcoming exhibition HRH The Princess Louise.

This evening, beginning at 6 p.m. at the gallery, she will give a talk on the exhibition which is scheduled to open on January 24 with 27 paintings by The Princess.

And tomorrow there will be a lunch time talk from 12.30 to 1.30 p.m.

Tickets for this evening's event are $10 for members and $15 for non-members.

Admission to the lunchtime event is free for members and $5 for non-members.

CAR TYRE SLASHED CRM Car tyre slashed Vandals slashed the tyre of a car parked on Broad Alley, St. George's on Friday night.

The attack is the fourth recent incident of tyre slashing to take place in the town.
