Wee Kids Support Group holds its annual picnic
The `Wee Kids' Support Group for parents of premature children, in conjunction with the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital Nursery Staff will hold its annual picnic on September 6.
The event will take place at Astwood Park on South Shore in Warwick from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Parents of premature children, born within the last five years, should RSVP by Friday, August 28.
Refreshments will be provided, but families should bring their own chairs or blankets. For more information, telephone 239-2017.
*** The Unity of the Spirit Youth Wing invite all young people, between the ages of 12 and 30 years, to attend their Youth Cruise on the MV Bermuda Longtail on Friday, August 28.
The boat cruise, which will leave Albuoy's Point at 8 p.m., will feature the hottest Christian vibes, praise and worship DJs from various local ministries.
Tickets are $25 and includes a meal. They are available from the Youth Ministries of First Church of God on North Shore Road, New Testament Heritage Hall, St. Paul's AME and Radnor Road Christian Fellowship in Shelly Bay. The Christian Bookstore in Hamilton will also have tickets for sale.
*** Meet the artists of the 1998 Bacardi Limited Biennial show currently underway at the Bermuda National Gallery tomorrow during the Gallery's Lunchtime Series.
The exhibition showcases the diversity and talent of Bermuda's artists. Paul Doughty, Helen Daniels and Antoine Hunt will be featured at tomorrow's gathering.
There will also be an informal panel discussion with several Bermuda artists moderated by senior curator Marlee Robinson.
The hour-long meeting gets underway at 12.30 p.m. and is free for BNG members and $5 for the general public.
