With talents ranging from Hip-Hop dancing to dramatic monologues, the seven competitors in this year?s Miss Teen Bermuda Islands pageant took to the City Hall stage on Thursday night.

The event, which is entering its fifth year, will wind up tomorrow night at the pageant finals.

Thursday?s winner of the Talent competition and fashion show will also be announced tomorrow evening.

Terry Smith of Tee?L Productions introduced the girls on Thursday night before an audience which filled roughly two-thirds of the City Hall venue.

The contestants ? Miss Sandys Angela Dickinson, Miss Southampton Tishauna Raynor, Miss Warwick Brittany Pitt, Miss Paget Christina Belboda, Miss Devonshire Chaylee Trott, Miss Smith?s Sinea Paynter and Ms St. George?s Elise Johnston vied for the talent honours in front of judges Sean Tucker, who won the Voice of Bermuda Contest, singer Diletta Gillespie, Miss Talent and Miss Photogenic 2001 Waynette Hollis and dancer/choreographer Jalani Lemay-Smith.

The girls modelled fashions from 27th Century boutique and Upscale Fashions in between the talent segments.

Miss Sandys performed an emotion-filled gospel song while Miss Southampton showed off her talent as a majorette to a four-piece drum line.

Miss Warwick recited a poem entitled ?My Best Friend? to the soundtrack of the Fugees ?Ready Or Not?.

A song about a young girl trying to find herself was the selection of Miss Paget while Miss Devonshire drew much applause with her spirited Hip-Hop dancing to a mixture of tracks while clad in army fatigues.

Miss Smith?s chose to tap dance and step to a song about about living life.

The teen representing the Island?s East end, Miss St. George?s performed a dramatic monologue which focussed on a pregnant teenager appealing to God to help her make it through her unplanned challenge.

Minister of Cultural Affairs Dale Butler congratulated all the girls for their commitment to the pageant and wished them the best of luck.

The pageant will be held tomorrow night at City Hall at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at All in One Boutique in the Washington Mall. General admission is $35 and patrons tickets are $45. Doors open at 6.15 p.m.
