?I was scared out of my mind?
Maurice Stovell was arrested at Locomotion Graphics on Lane Hill in Pembroke on October 24 by Det. Con. Antoine Fox, Det. Con. Alex Severin and Det. Sgt. Hayden Small.
Mr. Stovell alleged he was accosted by an ?aggressive? Fox, who grabbed him by the throat and demanded to know ?where the f*****g boxes were? while threatening to punch him.
?I?m going to make you bleed,? Mr. Stovell claims he was told. The interrogation at Locomotion Graphics continued for close to 15 minutes, the court heard, while Mr. Stovell was allegedly struck ?numerous times? on the back of the head with the hard Styrofoam lining of a crash helmet each time he professed his innocence. ?I was frightened and confused,? he said. ?I feared for my life. I?d never been in trouble with the Police before so I just did not know what was going to happen.?
Mr. Stovell was then arrested and taken to his home on Serpentine Road in order to collect his car, in which Police believed the boxes had been transported. Afterwards he was driven to Prospect narcotics office, where he claims he was placed in the small photocopying area adjacent to the room in which Madeiros was being ?roughed up?.
?There were loud noises coming from the next room and somebody was crying and shouting out,? Mr. Stovell said.
?It sounded like a torture chamber or something. I kept hearing shouts of ?get up? and ?speak? while whoever was in there was begging for it to stop. I was left in that room for something like 20 minutes while officer Fox kept on asking me questions and telling me that I would be next if I did not give them what they wanted. I was scared out of my mind.?
