In overseas competitions, Bermuda's riders continue to show well in a number of disciplines, but mostly in eventing and horse trials.

Last weekend, Gina Flood finished 15th overall in the International two-star three-day event held at Radnor in Pennsylvania. She had 15 time penalties to add to her dressage score of 61, going clear in cross-country and show jumping and moving up from 20th after dressage to finish with a score of 76. The event included riders from Canada and the United States.

Carol Ann Blackman recently placed first in a special intermediate level horse trial series held in Canada and the United States. Competitors were required to compete in a at least three of seven open intermediate horse trials and Blackman finished one point ahead of Canadian rider Bruce Manderville, who is a partner of Bermudian Garry Roque.

Roque and Blackman will both be competing later this month in Maryland at the Fairhill three-star, three-day event.

This is a qualifying event for the 1994 World Championships and they will be joined there by England-based riders Peter Gray and Tim Collins whose last major event was washed out by the heavy rain in Europe.

Also doing well is junior show jumper Melissa Pereech, who spent the summer with Blackman and is now in school in New Jersey.

Last weekend, Pereech finished with two firsts and one third and was overall champion in a regional competition.
