St. David's murder accused men in court
The two men charged over the alleged murders of Maxwell Brangman and Freddie Gilbert in St. David's made a brief appearance in Magistrates' Court yesterday.
Darronte Dill, 18, of Fentons Drive, Pembroke, is accused of murdering both of the homeless friends, whose bodies were found near the Black Horse Tavern on Sunday, September 21, and Monday, September 22.
Roger Lightbourne, 40, of Tommy Fox Road, St. David's, is charged solely with the murder of Mr. Brangman.
Both sat quietly throughout yesterday's session before being remanded back into custody. They will be back at plea court for mention on Thursday, October 23.
Police have said Mr. Brangman died from a number of wounds to his head and body, before his body was set alight.
Mr. Gilbert's body was found the next day in the waters of Great Bay. An autopsy revealed that he died from multiple wounds before his body was immersed in water.
Lightbourne's son, Roger Lightbourne Jr., has also been detained and questioned by Police. He has not been charged with any offence and was bailed on the same day that his father was charged.
