A woman has been charged with killing a motorcyclist through reckless or dangerous driving.

Trina Doyling, 38, denies responsibility for the death of 52-year-old David Santucci while she was driving a car on Middle Road on November 8, 2006.

This newspaper reported at the time of Mr. Santucci's death that his motorcycle came into collision with a car travelling in the opposite direction near Belmont Golf Course in Warwick.

No details were given about the alleged circumstances of the incident when Doyling, of Cedar Hill, Warwick, appeared at the monthly Supreme Court arraignment session yesterday.

She was granted bail.

In a separate matter, Markus Joerg Staebler denied stealing more than $40,000 from Surfside Beach Club.

The nine charges against him allege that he perpetrated the theft in his capacity as a clerk or servant of Bermuda Resort Hotels.

Staebler, 39, of Paddock Road, Warwick, was remanded in custody by Chief Justice Richard Ground.

A third defendant, Wendy Lorene Ingemann, stands charged with wounding Tanya Darrell with intent on February 10, 2007 and possessing an offensive weapon in the form of a glass goblet in Splash nightclub.

Ingemann, 37, of Wellington Slip Road, St. George's, pleaded not guilty to these charges. She entered the same plea to a further charge of violently resisting arrest by a female Police officer on the same date.

She was granted bail.

The final fresh matter before the court was that of Ricardo Lujuan Phipps, 35, of Cottage Hill Road, Hamilton Parish. He stands accused of conspiring with others not before the court to import cannabis into Bermuda between February 26 and March 18, 2007. Phipps pleaded not guilty.

All the defendants were ordered by the Chief Justice to attend the next arraignment session on February 1.
