Hamill named Igility CEO in management restructuring

New team: Igility's Robin Hamill III, chairman and CEO, Jamie Thain, chief innovation officer, and Aaron Smith, president and chief operating officer.

Igility, one of Bermuda's top private equity firms, has announced a shake up of its corporate structure and the creation of an 'Office of Innovation' to complete its all-Bermudian executive team.

Robin Hamill III, chairman of Igility, has been named chief executive officer of the group.

He joins Igility after an extensive career in the reinsurance industry, having most recently served as president of Merrill Lynch Reinsurance Solutions.

Mr. Hamill said: "I am thrilled to be joining such a dynamic group of companies. Our people are world class and are committed to exceeding our customers' expectations of us."

Aaron Smith, president of Igility, will assume the additional role of chief operating officer.

Mr. Smith operated the IBM Bermuda Agency (BCS) before co-founding Igility in 2003 with Jamie Thain.

Prior to returning to Bermuda with BCS, Mr. Smith worked with IBM in Canada.

Mr. Thain will assume the newly created role of chief innovation officer, responsible for finding and creating new opportunities. Igility's 'Office of Innovation' reflects its dedication to innovation, research and development.

Mr. Thain founded and operated Sbi prior to co-founding Igility.
