Warwick in Winter Commercial League Division B action at Bernard Park on

Renaud got support from Judy Readwin, who ripped apart Keith DeCosta's pitching. Readwin had three hits in three plate appearances, but Bobcats also got key hits from Don Noyes and Mike Barry.

Deon Beel gave Warwick fans something to smile about with a pair of hits in two at bats.

PTB produced fireworks at the plate as they scorched BF&M 22-6. Randy Brangman socked five hits and three runs batted in for PTB while John Ray (four hits, four RBI) and Dawn Morgan (four hits, two RBI) also proved troublesome for BF&M pitcher Alan Winston.

Shawn Tucker gained the victory, with only Danny Soares and Ken Williams, who each had two hits, providing him with any real challenge.

In the other match, Sandys pounded Team Fashions 19-11. Losing pitcher Gerald Bean proved most unfashionable in rendering three hits apiece to Danny Cook, Terry Corday and Timmy Simons. Corday, who was winning pitcher, uncorked a home run and drove in eight runs.

Team Fashions stitched together some offensive spark with Gary Flood (three hits) and Marvin McKay (two hits).

HOCKEY HOC Bermuda's Men's Hockey League season draws towards a close this weekend at National Sports Club with penultimate matches involving Rebels and Chameleons -- both chasing league leading Wasps.

Rebels, currently in second place with six wins and 15 points, have the decided edge based on previous encounters during the year while Chameleons are in third spot with 14 points and five victories.

At first glance the match pitting Police and Upstarts would draw little attention, but both teams are enjoying a late-season comeback.

Wasps, meantime, must sit back and wait for next week's crucial clash against Rebels.
