MV Sarah in need of repair: Docksiders The MV Sarah limped into Bermuda waters yesterday morning in desperate need of repair.
The 228-metre-long Maltese-flagged freighter was en route to Haifa, Israel from New Orleans when her engine shaft was damaged.
She anchored in Five Fathom Hole as she is too large to berth alongside any of the Island's docks and the crew will carry out repairs there, said Meyer Agencies' spokesman Stephen Paynter.
The MV Sarah will remain at anchor until the repairs are finished which could include bringing in parts from overseas, he added.
And the LPG tanker Emsgas is due to arrive today from the Dominican Republic with 9,000 barrels of liquid propane for the Island.
She will berth at the Esso terminal in St. George's where she will discharge her cargo before leaving tomorrow for Houston.
Meanwhile Bermuda's three regular visitors arrived and off loaded their respective cargoes as well this week.
First to arrive was the Oleander on Sunday. She left on Tuesday after unloading 122 dry containers, 32 refrigerated containers and some loose cargo.
This included six cars and two flatbed containers containing steel and pipe.
The Bermuda Islander arrived on Monday and left the following day after dropping off her load of 72 dry containers and 10 refers for the Island.
And the Somers Isles left today after off loading 82 containers -- which included 12 refers.
She arrived on Monday and also brought in a 36-foot-boat, a forklift, a truck and a shiny new ambulance for the St. John Ambulance Brigade.
