Bluebirds soar to top spot

Blazzin Bluebirds thrashed Bermuda College

Young Men’s Social Club Blazzin Bluebirds lived up to their name at Bernard Park at the weekend, pulling off the season’s biggest win to soar to the top of the Senior Winter League standings.

Led by Fredericka Samuels’ 45 goals, Bluebirds romped to an emphatic 72-7 victory against newcomers Bermuda College to keep their unbeaten record intact.

Lanae Woodley added ten goals and Miesha Greaves eight as Blazzin Bluebirds simply had things all their own way.

After three rounds of matches Bluebirds top the table on goal difference ahead of second-placed Young Men’s Social Club Lady Bluebirds, the league champions, who are the only other team unbeaten this season.

Elizabeth Davis led the scoring for Bermuda College who have nearly conceded 200 points against in their first three outings of the season.

Lady Bluebirds continued their solid start to the season after defeating Young Men’s Social Club Bluebirds Too 57-26.

Danielle Raynor and Ebonie Burgess accounted for all of Lady Bluebirds’ goals.

Raynor led the way with 36, with Burgess chipped in 21.

T’Yanna Hayward topped Bluebirds Too’s scoring with 17 goals.

Saturday’s remaining matches involving DataTech For-Ts and North Village Lady Rams and Signworx Netts and Warwick Pink Panthers proved to be more evenly contested affairs.

Alex Dowling scored 33 goals to guide DataTech to a 37-34 victory over Lady Rams.

Jahtuere Trott led Lady Rams scoring with 17 goals while Xah-Niyah Hunt added 12.

In an another contest that could have gone either way, Signworx Netts edged Warwick Pink Panthers 26- 24.

Stevantae McCallan led Netts with 16 goals while Amali Smith added ten.

Nikita Trott led Panthers with 18 goals.
