Golfer's handbag stolen

Police yesterday reported that a woman who left her cart unattended for a few minutes on Monday morning while putting on Belmont Golf Course had her shoulder bag stolen.
Staff members and Police were immediately alerted and while a portion of her belongings were discovered in a nearby bush, cash and several items of "valuable'' jewellery were not recovered.
The missing jewellery included a 14-carat gold neck chain with a 14-carat gold pear-shaped pendant and a 14-carat gold "pinky'' ring with a cluster of diamonds and rubies.
Anyone with information which may assist Police is asked to contact CID immediately at 295-0011.
Police also reminded the public that it is an offence to receive stolen property.
