Jewellery thieves target homes across the Island

Jewellery was stolen in three burglaries across the Island earlier this week.In the first incident, thieves stole several items of gold jewellery after breaking into a home in South Road, Warwick, between 5 p.m. on Monday and 12.30 p.m. on Tuesday.On Tuesday, between 7.50 a.m. and 9.50 a.m., offenders stole a collection of jewellery in a raid at an address in Highwood Lane, Paget.

Jewellery was stolen in three burglaries across the Island earlier this week.

In the first incident, thieves stole several items of gold jewellery after breaking into a home in South Road, Warwick, between 5 p.m. on Monday and 12.30 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, between 7.50 a.m. and 9.50 a.m., offenders stole a collection of jewellery in a raid at an address in Highwood Lane, Paget.

Items stolen included a green jewellery pouch containing a silver mesh bracelet, silver mesh necklace and pair of silver mesh earrings.

The same day, burglars broke into a home at St. Augustine Road, Pembroke, to steal several items of jewellery, including a wedding ring and engagement ring.

The occupant discovered the theft after returning home at 6.30 p.m..

Police say they are investigating all three incidents.

[bul]A burglar broke into two Devonshire homes on the same road taking jewellery, liquor and money.

The resident of one of the Chaingate Hill home’s told officers that a person got into his apartment sometime between 8.50 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Monday.

The burglar stole two gold bracelets, a gold ring with a lion head, a silver bracelet, a bottle of Chivas Regal Scotch whisky and $250 in coins.

One the same day, Police got a call from another house on Chaingate Hill where the occupant told officers that someone had entered his apartment while he was out and stole $630 in cash.

Police also attended a reported theft at a Church Street construction site on Monday morning.

The complainant told officers sometime between Sunday and early Monday morning, someone t entered the site and stole an orange and black gasoline operated chop saw with a 14 inch blade.

Police are investigating the matter.

[bul]Last Thursday a thief made away with cash and jewellery after gaining entry to a Devonshire residence.

Police responded to a Border Lane North report on Thursday at 2 p.m.

The complainant said that $200, a gold chain, a heart-shaped pendant and a silver chain with a ‘S’ pendant were taken in the burglary. Inquiries into the incident are underway.

[bul]A Pembroke homeowner is out of a collection of jewellery and dozens of DVDs after two burglaries in three days.

The first happened at the Overview Hill residence last Friday, according to Police.

Two gold watches, a gold chain with a Chinese pendant, and a gold ID bracket were taken while the home was unoccupied during the daytime.

Then on Sunday, the complainant tells Police of a second heist — 30 DVDs were pinched, also while there was no one at home during the day.

The call for help came into Police on Sunday evening.

They are investigating both crimes.
