A man found carrying crack cocaine was fined $800 at Magistrates' Court.Dion Denton Richards, 38, of Sun Valley Road, Warwick Parish, who pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, was told by Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner that he faced 60 days in prison if he defaulted on the fine.

Dion Denton Richards, 38, of Sun Valley Road, Warwick Parish, who pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, was told by Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner that he faced 60 days in prison if he defaulted on the fine.

Prosecutor Oonagh Vaucrosson told the court that Richards was at Hamilton Police station for another matter on July 7 when he was searched by an officer. The Policeman found a bag containing 0.01 grams of cocaine freebase.

Man denies assaulting Police officer

A man denied assaulting a Police officer when he appeared at Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

Lindley Paul Scott, 41, of Eastdale Lane, Southampton, is accused of committing the offence and of resisting arrest, which he also denies, on October 8 in St George's.

The case was adjourned for a trial on April 11 and Scott was bailed.

Trial date for offensive behaviour case

A man denied offensive behaviour at Bermuda International Airport when he appeared at Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

John Markham, 26, of Knapton Estate Road, Smith's, is alleged to have committed the offence on November 30, 2005.

A trial date was set for March 2 and he was released on bail.
