Bermuda tops regional list in magazine poll
The Island has again secured the top position of a prestigious visitor's choice list.
The annual Reader's Choice Awards are in the November edition of Conde Nast Traveller Magazine.
More than 20,000 readers took part in the ranking and named Bermuda the top Caribbean/Atlantic island destination.
This is the 11th time in the last 12 years that the Island has reached the top position. In 2005, St. John, in the US Virgin Islands, took the top spot, but Bermuda regained it in 2006.
This year Bermuda scored 80.2 in the poll while St. John scored 78.9, St Bart's 77 and the British Virgin Islands scored 74.9.
Premier Ewart Brown said: "Time and again the world is praising Bermuda for being a travel destination that is head and shoulders above all the rest. I can't imagine there are any remaining doubters — clearly our tourism product is back and back in a very strong way.
"That's why I am so adamant about seizing this momentum to move our tourism product forward into the platinum period — a period when our commitment to new luxury accommodations and excellent customer service is at a level our competitors can't match. Our tourism product is ready to grow."
The Reefs hotel also appeared in the magazine, it placed in the top five Atlantic Ocean resorts
It was the only resort in the Island to make it on to any lists.
General manager Ben Tutt said the rating reflected the efforts of the staff: "We strive to ensure each guest enjoys an unparalleled and memorable experience.
"We hear over and over how they will be back, and it is true. More than half of our guests are here for the second time or more."
