Trio alleged to have taken part in violent disturbance
Three men charged with being involved in a violent disturbance in the Fairylands neighbourhood have had bail set at $10,000 each.
A total of 13 offences including having offensive weapons ? namely a sword, a baton and a glass bottle ? have been alleged against the trio, who are aged between 19 and 22.
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner, viewing the seriousness of the alleged offences, fixed bail at $10,000 for each of the men and ordered them to report in Hamilton Police Station on three days every week until they are brought back to Magistrates? Court on June 22.
The alleged incident is said to have happened in the Fairylands area around 7 p.m. on June 5.
Chase Jason Burgess, 20, of Crisson Avenue, Pembroke, has been charged with being in possession of a bladed weapon, namely a sword, having a weapon with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, two counts of unlawful wounding, one of unlawful assault, and one charge of being armed in public with the intention of causing terror.
Marcus Gerath Burgess, 22, of Radnor Estates Road, Hamilton Parish, has been charged with having an offensive weapon in public, namely a glass bottle, one count of unlawful assault and one of being armed in public with the intention of causing terror.
Kyle Tavares, 19, of Fairylands Lane, Pembroke, is charged with having an offensive weapon, namely a baton stick, unlawful assault, unlawful assault causing bodily harm and being armed in public with the intention of causing terror.
None of the three entered pleas to the charges when they appeared at Plea Court.
They were placed on bail for $10,000 each with one surety, to report to Hamilton Police Station on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and ordered to stay away from any of the complainants in the case.
The matter has been adjourned to June 22.
