The ceremony will begin at 10.35 a.m. when a Bermuda Regiment Guard of Honour will arrive at the Cabinet Building grounds. Lord Waddington is to inspect it on his arrival at 10.50 a.m.

Senators will assemble in the Senate Chamber and be joined by Members of the House of Assembly who will be led from Sessions House by Speaker the Hon.

And the adventure cost him a $100 fine in Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Cleveland M. Simmons, a self-employed painter, told the court he had been surveying the two-storey building on Union Street, Hamilton to see if it could be renovated and made into a hostel.

But last Saturday, after a few drinks, he decided it would be a good place to sleep himself.

He lay face-down on a mattress and was woken by Police.

Simmons, 49, of Tablerock Avenue, Pembroke, admitted trespassing in the Bermuda Nurses Association building.

"I was slightly intoxicated and sought refuge,'' he said.

HAMILTON BUSINESS HIT BY BURGLARS CRM Hamilton business hit by burglars Burglars stole $3,113 from a Hamilton business sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning.

Sgt. Dale said the money was taken from a bank bag which was locked in a desk drawer. A cash register was also attacked.

Entry was believed to be gained through the roof and interior doors.

Marlon Harvey, 20, was due to join a family picnic on an island off Cambridge Beaches on August 23.

He missed a boat trip to the island, so he parked his motorbike in the hotel grounds and swam across to join the fun.

But when he got back, Police had confiscated his bike and were charging him with trespassing.

Harvey, of Malabar Close, admitted the offence.

Prosecutor Insp. Peter Duffy said hotel managers had put up a sign after problems with trespassers.

SCREAMS DRIVE BURGLAR AWAY CRM Screams drive burglar away A Warwick woman's screams drove a male intruder out of her apartment yesterday morning, Police reported.

The woman awoke in her Fiddlewood Drive apartment to find the man in her bedroom and screamed. Police spokesman Sgt. John Dale said the man fled the apartment and escaped over a balcony.

Her scream alerted a next-door neighbour who challenged the man. But the intruder ran toward Ord Road, taking the woman's handbag which contained personal cheques, credit cards, and a Wizard Electronic diary.

A residence on Harrington Hundreds Road, Smith's Parish, was also broken into on Tuesday.

Sgt. Dale said the ground-floor glass sliding door was forced and the house was searched. But nothing is believed to have been stolen.

MAN WHO LOST HIS TROUSERS FINED CTS Man who lost his trousers find Police found Vincent E. Outerbridge asleep on a road without his trousers on, Magistrates' Court heard yesterday.

Officers saw the 47-year-old Hamilton Parish man lying on his back, and could not wake him for several minutes.

When he eventually came round, his speech was so slurred they could not discover his name or address.

Outerbridge, of Redkiln Road, admitted being drunk and incapable on Barkers Hill, Devonshire, just after midnight on Tuesday. He was fined $150.
