to his bed. Veronica Dill, 27, did not plead to charges of attempting to murder Graham Stancliffe, intending to do him grievous bodily harm, unlawful wounding and setting fire to his bed.

The incident happened on October 13 when Dill is accused of starting the fire while Stancliffe slept at the house on North Shore Road, Pembroke, where they both live. Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis said the case could not be tried in Magistrates' Court and bailed Dill in the sum of $2,000 with conditions.

Mr. Francis said that Dill must continue to live with her mother, and she must also continue to follow such directions as are prescribed by her doctor. She was also told not to have any contact with Stancliffe.

Hairdresser, Stancliffe, 26, received second degree burns to his arms and legs in the blaze which gutted the bedroom.

Eight fire appliances including 20 personnel fought the blaze at the property overlooking the sea.
