Dominic Mayo defended his End-to-End title at the weekend.

Dominic Mayo set a new record in the second annual Bicycle Works End-to-End Mountain Bike race on the weekend to retain his title, despite the fact the course was one third of a mile longer than last year.Mayo finished in a time of one hour, 42 minutes and 29 seconds, ahead of Peter Dunne in second (1:43.53) and third placed Dexter Swan (1.44.46).Forty riders took part in the race which started at Dockyard and finished at Ferry Reach.Sarah Bonnet had a fine showing finishing sixth, while junior rider Deshi Smith demonstrated he is worthy of attention during this year’s mountain bike season, coming fifth overall.
