recall incidents surrounding the murder of a 33-year-old man.

The little girl was testifying during the second day of the Supreme Court trial of Gregory Dill, 34, of Angle Street, who has denied murdering David Riley on May 24 this year.

Mr. Riley was found lying in the doorway of an Angle Street apartment after he had been stabbed in the stomach.

Yesterday the primary school student, who was in an apartment next door, said she remembered the victim and Dill arguing through out the day.

The youngster told the four-man, eight-woman jury that around the time the deceased limped to the apartment next door, she was looking out through a glass door.

But when questioned by Attorney General Elliot Mottley about what she saw, the child went silent and then eventually said she could not remember.

She said she heard a shout, but did not know who was shouting.

On Tuesday, the little girl's mother Marie Rickett said she heard bottles breaking in her front yard that evening.

She recalled seeing the deceased limping toward her brother's apartment next door.

"When he was coming toward my brother's apartment, bottles were being thrown at him,'' Mrs. Rickett said. "I didn't see who was throwing them.'' She said she retreated into her apartment to avoid the bottles, and while inside heard Dill's voice at her brother's apartment door demanding the door be opened.

The jury heard this was the first time Mrs. Rickett had revealed such information. She told the court that she "just forgot'' to tell the Police.

Several other witnesses testified that earlier that day the two men had been fighting.

But none of the witnesses could say what the argument was about. At one point the victim was seen wielding a knife, while the accused was brandishing a metal pipe, the witnesses said.

The trial continues today before Chief Justice Austin Ward. Lawyer Archibald Warner appears for Dill.
