National coach Kyle Lightbourne was today told his contract would not be renewed by the Bermuda Football Association.
The former Coventry City striker, who took over from Kenny Thompson in October, 2004, had just presided over Bermuda's best ever Digicel Cup campaign which ended earlier this month when the team lost 5-0 to eventual winners Haiti in a playoff for the eight-team finals.
In contrast to his predecessor, Lightbourne was employed on only a part-time basis by the BFA and his contract was up for renewal at the conclusion of the Digicel Cup.
Lightbourne's departure also means the end of the line also for his assistant Paul Scope, a former semi-professional footballer from Newcastle.
