Breaking News: Bermuda crash out of Digicel Cup

Bermuda crashed out of the Digicel Cup last night after being held to a goalless draw by Cayman Islands.
The Gombey Warriors went into the match knowing only a victory would be enough to secure their passage to the next round.
They gave it everything they had but could not break Cayman's resolute defence despite enjoying the superior possession, especially during a wholly dominant first-half.
Bermuda seemed to have the initiative when Cayman had a man sent off for two bookable offences just after the hour mark.
But the referee immediately reduced Bermuda to ten-men, harshly showing Stevie Astwood the red card for swearing in the tussle which followed that incident.
"The boys made a big effort under difficult circumstances and just fell a little bit short," said coach Kenny Thompson."I'm proud of the effort we did put in and I'm proud of the young players, in particular.
"They made the biggest impact in this competition."
On Saturday night Bermuda smacked Caribbean minnows St.Martin for seven with Reggie Lambe scoring four goals, debutant Casey Castle bagging a brace, while Damon Ming also opened his account.
But it proved to be all in vein. The damage had already been done by losing 4-0 to Antigua on the opening night of the competition. Bermuda simply gave themselves too much to do and were never able to make-up the ground they had lost.
