Members of the Bermuda football team have tested positive for the coronavirus after they attended a training camp in the US.

Sources said the cases were detected at the airport after players arrived back on the Monday night American Airlines flight from Miami.

The squad had been at a camp in Bradenton, Florida, for a week and played two friendlies against the Bahamas in preparation for its World Cup qualifying campaign.

The Government said on Wednesday that four coronavirus cases out of seven new infections were residents who had arrived on Monday’s AA flight from Miami.

It is believed at least one of the cases was a member of the national team.
