Daniel Tad Lanni of Loome's, California, and Steve Todd Lanni of Carmichael, California, pleaded guilty to drug charges when they appeared in Magistrates' Court.

Daniel Lanni, 26, admitted possessing .93 grams of the drug which was contained in five home-made cigarettes found in a cigarette pack he was carrying.

"I'm sorry for disrespecting your country and my family,'' he said before being fined $100 for possession. "It was the wrong thing to do.'' A pipe and .22 grams of cannabis were found in Steve Lanni's luggage. The 31-year-old told the the court he and his brother did not purposely bring the drug with them.

He explained that they had "rushed out of the house and forgot'' the items were among their belongings.

The carpet store owner was fined $100 for possession of cannabis and $200 for possession of drug equipment.

The latter fine was reduced by $50 after Lanni explained he had picked up the tab for the entire party, and had only $260 left.

The Sir Harry D. Butterfield Undergraduate Scholarship has an annual value of $15,000 and is tenable up to four years.

The Sir Dudley A. Spurling Postgraduate Scholarship has the same value and length of tenure.

The bank also provides ten interest-free student loans worth $6,000 each for a maximum of three years and repayable over five years.

Michael Jonathan Ulman of West Roxbury, Massachusetts, had his luggage searched by authorities after his arrival at the Civil Air Terminal on March 18.

Customs officers discovered a locked bag containing a pipe and .42 grams of cannabis among the 17-year-old's possessions.
