Blues stars likely to miss United match
LONDON (AP) — Chelsea could be without midfielder Frank Lampard and striker Didier Drogba for the Premier League match at Manchester United on Sunday.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho said Lampard was still troubled by a thigh injury and Drogba had not recovered from a knee problem.
"I am getting no good news from the medical department," Mourinho said after Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw by Rosenborg in the Champions League on Tuesday. "I don't think they will be back for Sunday.
"The news is not getting worse but I want them to tell me the players are ready to train. But there is no good news."
Drogba has scored one goal in his five games for Chelsea this season, all in the Premier League, but he hasn't played since September 2. Lampard has scored three goals in four Premier League games but has been sidelined since August 25.
Drogba was the Premier League's leading scorer last season with 20 goals, while Lampard contributed 14.
