Folk is back
And club spokesman Paul Maccoy appealed for fresh faces to sign up and help the club swing into another year.
Mr. Maccoy -- past-president of the club -- said: "We'd really like to see some new musicians.
"We do everything from the blues to the Beatles, but we'd really like to hear from people who know folk songs.'' He added: "Anyone who can sing or play is welcome -- we organise workshops and jam sessions in the spring and we can put people in touch with other performers on the Island.'' Tonight sees a local singers' night at the club's regular venue, the Old Colony Club, Trott Road, Hamilton, starting at 8 p.m.
Performers will include well-known Bermuda bluesman Wellington Darrell, newcomer Arthur Trott and local entertainer Rob Berry.
Mr. Maccoy added that, as well as providing a showcase for local talent, the club brings in top-class folk acts from overseas.
