Get green at the aquarium

present the second of a four-part lecture series entitled `Living in Harmony with the Environment' this week.

Thursday's lecture will examine `Gardening to Encourage Wildlife' by the Bermuda Aquarium Museum and Zoo's Lisa Greene.

The 7.30 p.m. lecture will take place in the BAMZ's Aquarium Hall, a fitting venue for environmental discussion since marine life tanks serve as a backdrop.

Each lecture costs $5 to attend, payable at the door, with proceeds benefiting the BZS. Light refreshments will be available.

*** Need some tips on getting your garden ready for Spring? The Friends of the Library will host a Spring Planting seminar tomorrow at the Bermuda National Library on Queen Street.

Admission to the 7 p.m. seminar is $5.

*** The Alliance Francaise invite all to tomorrow's French film evening at the Daylesford Theatre (BMDS).

The 1996 film, `Les Voleurs', with Catherine Deneuve and Daniel Auteuil will be screened. The film has English sub-titles.

Tickets for members are $3 and $5 for non-members.

*** The Bermuda Conservatory of Music will host their popular annual chamber concert this weekend at the Ruth Seaton James Centre this weekend.

Some Enchanted Evening 2000 will feature international performers, cellist Paul de Jong and violinist Matthias Boegner, as well as numerous local artists.

Selections for Saturday's performance, which gets underway at 8 p.m., are drawn from the Romantic repertoire, include Franck Violin Sonata and Ravel Piano Trio.

Tickets are $40 for patrons, $20 for adults and $10 for students /seniors and are available from Meyer Travel, Opus Encore, Pianos Plus or the Conservatory at 296-5100.

*** A popular feline attraction will make its annual return to Hamilton this weekend.

The Bermuda Cat Fanciers Association will host their 18th Cat Show at the Harbour Room, Number One Shed, this Saturday.

The event promises fun for the entire family with vendors, art competition, breed information booth, refreshments and raffles.

Entrance is $4 for adults and $2 for children and seniors.
