Feed My Lambs Ministry renews Haiti appeal
Charity worker Phillip Rego has appealed for financial aid and volunteers to help Haiti in the aftermath of last week's devastating earthquake.
Mr. Rego runs an orphanage around 40 miles west of Port-au-Prince and has links to a medical clinic in the capital.
Both are still standing after the 7.0 strength quake struck last Tuesday. The death toll is estimated to be between 50,000 and 200,000.
Mr. Rego hopes to gather a team of local nurses and doctors to go with him to the country to help the survivors, as well as volunteers to help with rebuilding.
"We need to get to them as soon as possible," he said last night.
Meanwhile, his charity, Feed My Lambs Ministry, is also gathering financial donations. Anyone who can help should contact Mr. Rego on 535-8934 or 236-8176. Donations can be made to Bank of Bermuda account 010-876795001 under the account name Feed My Lambs Ministry.
