Pair in court as twins? mother watches
Members of the public and legal fraternity were subjected to body searches at Magistrates? Court yesterday under a heavy Police presence as the two men charged with assaulting the missing Cooper twins appeared in court for mention.
Dennis Alma Robinson, 30, from Palm Valley, Southampton, and Kenneth Jermain Burgess, 33, from Hamilton Parish, are charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent to do grievous bodily harm on 20-year-old twins Jahmal and Jahmil Cooper.
The Cooper brothers disappeared on March 13.
Their mother, Rochelle Zuill Cooper, was in court yesterday with another family member, but declined to to speak to the Press. She was accompanied by a Police officer. Robinson was represented by Charles Richardson while Burgess was represented by Richard Horseman.
Yesterday?s court appearance follows the discovery of two unidentified bodies at a secluded spot in Abbot?s Cliff on Wednesday afternoon, exactly a month after the brothers disappeared.
They were last seen getting into a jeep at the junction of Court and Elliott Streets in Hamilton on the night of March 13.
Robinson and Burgess will return to court for mention on April 27 at 9.30 a.m. and remain in custody.
