The motorcycle and karting track at Southside reopened on Sunday. It was closed by officials from the Ministry of Education, Sports and Recreation on September 14 after it was discovered that a corner of the track was deemed unsafe by the Karting Association.

Once the problem was rectified, Ministry officials gave racers the green light to continue with their season. In a statement yesterday announcing the news, the Department of Youth, Sport and Recreation thanked those affected for their cooperation and patience.
