Feed the children
April 12, 2003
Dear Sir,
In response to the story in April 11, 2003 newspaper. "Homeless on the rise", I completely understand the lifestyle most of Bermudians prefer. The fancy, expensive things in life ... why not just settle for nice and reasonable?
There are a lot of children on this island who are homeless, hungry and need a place to live and clothes on their backs.
The Government will spend our (taxpayers) money on trips, parties, advertising and etc. when they should be using to help the people in Bermuda. If you think about it, if it wasn't for us working the Government and the Ministers would not have the big fancy houses, flashy cars and big bank accounts.
Put yourself in the homeless and hungry's shoes, and then ask yourself is this how I would want to live?
There are parents out there trying everything they can to make ends meet and the choices they have to make is either feed my children or pay the rent. I know because I have been in that position before and there were many of days and nights where I had not eaten. As long as my children were fed that was all that matter to me.
So Bermuda, please if you have and extra five dollars to spare, use it to help feed the children of your Island.
