A radio presenter is appealing to the public to help her give needy children and seniors a merry Christmas.

Kristy Burgess — aka Miss Thang — needs clothing, toys, food vouchers and gift certificates for 25 recipients chosen by listeners of her Hott 1075 show.

She said: "Christmas is right around the corner and there are a lot of families and children in need this year. I have decided this year to help Santa's ever-growing list. I believe we can all make a difference as long as we stick together through thick and thin."
