Tomorrow, a production team will be holding casting calls for the television drama 'The Dream Boat'. Set in Bermuda, the German television movie will require up to 150 extras in scenes ranging from garden parties to the beach, to the Island's top hotels.

Acting experience is not required but production company Polython International wants to ensure it portrays a broad cross-section of Bermudian society.

"We want a true representation of Bermuda and its people. Everyone is welcome, they just have to be open and friendly," said Gerd Zimmerman, one of the producers.

'Das Traumschiff Honeymoon Bermuda' is a two-hour drama revolving around the weddings and honeymoons of two couples. Although the film starts on a cruise ship, the MS Deutschland, the majority of the action will take place on the Island. Not only will the movie be broadcast to a 25 million-plus audience on the German national television network ZDF, but it will also be shown on ORF in Austria and SRG in Switzerland.

'Das Traumschiff' was created by Wolfgang Rademann in 1981 and has filmed at exotic locations all over the world. Up to 75 movies have been produced in the 28 years of its existence.

The casting calls for 'The Dream Boat Honeymoon Bermuda' take place at the Hamilton Princess between 12 noon and 2 p.m., and 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Just follow the signs in the hotel lobby.

Filming is scheduled to take place from May 16 to June 6, with extras required to attend on one of 18 shooting days.

Mr. Zimmerman said: "We thought Bermuda was so beautiful that we should do an entire movie here. We are very excited. We think your Island is just gorgeous and we want to show as much of it as possible."
