Inflation stood at one percent in December — up 0.4 percent, according to statistics released this morning.

According to the Consumer Price Index the rate of inflation rose from 0.6 percent in November with the health and personal care sector being the largest

contributor to the increase, with prices rising by 7.2 percent.

The household goods, services and communications sector and the rent sector also impacted strongly on the annual rate of inflation, with measured increases of 3.2

per cent and 1.1 per cent, respectively.
