organisation, ORSHAD, was fined $500 when he appeared in Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Michael Daniels of Tribe Road No. 3 pleaded guilty to offensive behaviour during an ORSHAD vigil on December 14, 1991 on Ord Road in Warwick.

The court heard how Daniels and a group of men assembled opposite the ORSHAD gathering, and began to heckle them.

Daniels then began yelling directly at vigil participant, Mr. Newton Adcock.

Getting no response, Daniels walked up and ripped the headphones off his head, saying: "You don't belong in this area. I live on this street. I'll get you outta here. I'll find out where you live and I'll get you outta here.'' Daniels then put his fist to Mr. Adcock's face and threatened him further, telling him "just stay here 'til it gets dark''.

When asked by Magistrate Mrs. Cheryl-Ann Mapp what he had to say for himself, Daniels claimed that it was Mr. Adcock who had been bothering him.

"The way I look at it, he was following me. He was just looking for attention.'' Mrs. Mapp told Daniels that as long as Mr. Adcock was on public grounds, he had every right to walk where he pleased.

"They have every right to do that in peace. He was well within his rights.'' she said. "You could have left if he was bothering you.'' Daniels, who has appeared in court before on similar charges, promised that "nothing like this will happen again''.
