Bermuda's significance in the captive insurance world has been underlined in the latest Captive Power 50 list.

A number of executives from the island are included in the annual list of the 50 most influential captive insurance professionals.

Leading the way is Brian McNamara, head of global fronting, North America, at Allianz, who is at number 15 on the list.

Julie Boucher, practice leader Bermuda, at Marsh Captive Solutions, is at number 18.

Moving up two places from the 2020 list, to 20, is David Gibbons, PWC Bermuda captive insurance leader.

He said: "It's an honour to be named among the top 20 leaders in the global captive insurance industry. It’s a credit to the entire dedicated captive team at PwC Bermuda for continuing to bring strategic solutions, innovation and value to our clients in the market during a difficult time.

"This award is also a testament to Bermuda's continued strength as the world’s pre-eminent captive domicile."

Also on the list is Brian Quinn, founding director and chief underwriting officer at Granite Management Ltd. He appears at number 41.

The list was topped by Brady Young, CEO of Strategic Risk solutions, which has offices in Bermuda.

The Captive Review Power 50 is an annual list of the 50 most influential captive insurance professionals, with entrants from around the world. There were more than 18,000 individual votes for the Power 50 this year, which was a record.

Captive Review said: "The Power 50 honours captive professionals that excelled in 2020, who are champions of the captive insurance industry, dedicated professionals who are collegiate, innovative, committed, visible, and shown excellence over the past year."

The Captive Review Power 50: Ones to Watch list includes Jennifer Masters. She is PwC Bermuda captive insurance senior manager. She was recognised for her expertise in compliance with AML/ATF regulations.

On the "Ones To Watch" list, Ms Masters was among eight captive insurance professionals featured. The eight were recognised as becoming increasingly prominent in the captive industry and are expected to have an impact in their area of expertise during the next year.

Ms Masters said: "I’m proud and honoured to receive this recognition by Captive Review and congratulate my other industry colleagues who have also been included as ones who will be making their mark in the captive industry in the years ahead."
