A 73-year-old yachtsman finally gave up his voyage to Bermuda when he encountered severe problems 200 miles north of the Island.

Mr. Peter Halburn's two-man crew left him 10 days ago as he continued his journey from the US to Bermuda in his 30 foot yacht the Apogee. He refused assistance at that time.
He was found in serious trouble by a Jamaica-bound boat the Spring Gant after making contact with the Coast Guard. The Apogee was taking on water and has been left adrift in the Atlantic Ocean.
