Bowling Club tournament winners
Bermuda Bowling Club held its 29th annual Open Doubles and Singles Tournament last weekend, with the stepladder finals for both the top five men and women being held on Monday.
This year saw the majority of the prize money stayed in Bermuda.
For the women, there was a tie for fourth place as last year's champion, Philadelphia's Maria Ward, lost to Patrice Tucker 188-161, the next match saw Patrice lose to June Dill, 184-182, then Pat Price defeated June Dill 194-165 to put her in the final with Bobbie Ingham who became this year's champion by defeating Pat Price 210-181.
For the men, the first match saw fourth place Chris Maycock and Kevin Swan tie 178-178, which required a 10th frame roll-off Chris then won 38-36. The next match saw Chris lose to Jackie Miller 202-171.
Jackie then went on to defeat Dean Lightbourn 207-186. In the final match David Maycock defeated Jackie 171-166
Both Ingham and Maycock received $400 plus a watch from Crissons, second placers received $200, third placers $150, and those in fourth and fifth got $100 and $75 respectively.
There were 100 Doubles entries which saw the top prize of $2,000 go to Lanan Bascome and Bobbie Ingham with a score of 1348.
In the Singles section there were 168 singles entries, with the top prize of $1,000 going to Chris Maycock bowling a 712.
