Air Canada?s Jazz eyeing US partnerships

TORONTO (Reuters) ? Air Canada?s regional Jazz subsidiary has held partnership talks with US carriers regarding transborder service, Jazz chief executive Joseph Randell said yesterday. ?It?s an opportunity, it?s something that we will look to take advantage of,? Randell told Reuters in an interview. He added that no deal appears imminent because of regulatory hurdles. ?It?s a two-edged sword where, on one hand, it?s difficult for us to operate in the US, on the other hand it is difficult for US operators to operate in Canada,? he said. As of February 1, Jazz flew to 56 destinations in Canada on Air Canada?s behalf, but to only 22 destinations in the United States.
