Police to start charging for certain services

The Bermuda Police Service is to charge $100 to perform criminal record checks and provide police clearance certificates, as of Thursday.A Police spokesman announced the new fee this afternoon.“This payment should accompany a completed application form, which is available on the Bermuda Police Service website at www.bermudapolice.bm under Forms & Publications,” the spokesman said.The following services are now also the subject of a $100 fee, he added: Fingerprinting services for such things as visas and job applications, and police incident and collision reports.“All fees should be submitted by cheque and made payable to the Accountant General. The Bermuda Police Service appreciates the public’s co-operation regarding these matters.”
