Bermuda Police produced a strong second-half performance to clinch the title with goals coming from Clifford Roberts (two), Kenneth Bartrum and an own goal. The lone Prisons goal was also an own goal.

Jerry Laws of Police and Des Minors of Prisons were joint top scorers in the tournament with five goals each.

Prisons reached the final with a narrow 1-0 win over defending champions Vancouver PD, the lone goal coming in the second half from Minors. Police advanced to the final with a convincing 5-0 win over the US Secret Service.

Laws netted twice while other goals came from Dwayne Leverock, Lawrence Smith and Jamiko Tucker.

The Metropolitan Toronto Police Department won the women's title with a 4-0 win over Seattle as Tracey Latimer netted a hat-trick.

The winners were presented with North American Police Soccer Championship trophies by Governor Thorold Masefield.

Latimer, who also scored twice in the 4-1 semifinal win over Peel Regional Police of Canada, finished as the championship's top scorer with nine goals.

Peel replaced Bermuda Police in the semifinals after the local team were disqualified for fielding an ineligible player in an earlier round.

Seattle won the other semifinal with a hard-fought 4-2 win on penalty kicks over Vancouver PD after the teams were tied at 2-2 after extra time.
